Andrew Tate claims that "justice will be served" after he and brother Tristan were released from prison in Romania after three months behind bars.

The four-time world kickboxing champion, 36, and his younger sibling were released from their incarceration in Bucharest on Friday evening, having been arrested by local authorities in late December on suspicion of alleged human trafficking and forming an organised crime group. Two Romanian women related to the investigation were also released alongside the brothers.

Earlier this week, Andrew and Tristan failed in their efforts to overturn a decision which denied them bail, but were on Friday successful in appealing last week's decision to extend their incarceration by an extra 30 days. Both brothers and the two women are now being held on house arrest.

Local media waited outside of Tate's residency to hear a statement which has emerged on Twitter. Speaking to a pool of reporters, the 36-year-old said: "The judges who heard us today, they were very attentive, they listened to us and they let us know, so I have absolute respect for them.

"I have no resentment in my heart for the country of Romania over anybody else, I just believe in the truth. I believe in god and I think that the fire of the truth will destroy all lies and anybody who lies over a long enough time frame will feel regret. I truly believe that justice will be served in the end, there is zero per cent chance of me being found guilty of something I have not done.

"I maintain my absolute innocence and I think most people understand this. I look forward to being home, so thank you very much everyone."

When asked what his plans for the next few days were, Tate replied: "When I was in jail I did 7,417 push-ups, I would like to get to 10,000 before the end of the weekend. I will focus on the push-ups and I will read the Quran. Thank you."

Tate also wrote on his Twitter account, @Cobratate: ":)". That was before a follow-up tweet which read: "Email regarding my release will be sent in 24 hours. God is great."

Following his and Tristan's releases, a spokesperson for the pair told Mirror Fighting: "We are ecstatic to announce the Romanian judicial system approved Andrew and Tristan Tate's appeal against last week's extension decision."

In late December, Romanian officials raided a property owned by Tate's, seizing assets of which officials valued at around $3.9m (£3.1m). The American-English siblings, who deny all allegations against them, appealed against their imprisonment but on each occasions the court ruled against them.

The pair had made a total of five attempts in their bid to be released prior to Wednesday's crucial hearing. The Tate's could have been held in their detention for a maximum of six months as part of their 'preventative arrest', even though they are currently facing no formal charges.

A number of online petitions were set up calling for their release, with Andrew boasting 5.5million followers on Twitter. Born in Washington D.C. and the son of an international chess master, the 36-year-old grew up across the United States in places such as Chicago, Illinois and Goshen, Indiana.

When Andrew's parents divorced, he and Tristan - who's two years younger than him - moved to Luton. Following his kickboxing career and an appearance on Big Brother, Andrew began to gain notoriety as online influencer who encouraged men to embrace a controversial masculine culture.

Throughout 2022, he and Tristan only became a larger presence on the internet, causing more controversy with their outspoken views on women and various political issues. Andrew was previously banned from Twitter after it was deemed that he was expressing misogynistic opinions.
